Dr. Shyama Janaka Mahakalanda ​

Dr. Shyama Janaka Mahakalanda, Vice President of CSR and Compliance at MARKSS Holdings, is a qualified professional with a strong educational background. He holds a PhD in Health Policy and is a medical doctor by profession, specializing in health policy research. To further expand his knowledge in health administration, he completed an Executive Masters in Science in Health Administration in Malaysia.​

 Aside from his role at MARKSS Holdings, Dr. Mahakalanda is a dedicated full-time researcher in health systems at the Fiji National University. Within this position, he conducts thorough research and analysis on various aspects of health systems, focusing particularly on Pacific Island countries and Sri Lanka. ​

Dr. Mahakalanda's diverse educational background, encompassing medicine, economics, and health administration, coupled with his extensive research and consultancy experience, uniquely position him to make significant contributions to the field of health policy and systems in the Pacific region and Sri Lanka.​
